Exercise: The following questions can be either written and answered in your text book and/or discussed as a class.

Speedy lives in a house in UK.
Questions:

  • How does Speedy’s home differ to your home?
  • What things are similar between Speedy’s home and your home?
  • What was your favourite part of the story?
  • What things are different?
  • If you had a pet/animal to look after what would it be and why?
  • Pretend you are this animal for 5 – 10 mins. Walk like the animal, eat like the animal, wash or clean like the animal. (Drama/Roleplay)
  • Do you think you would like to live in a home like Speedy’s and why?
  • Draw a picture of Speedy, don’t forget her long tail and whiskers.

This is the board game it needs to be printed, trimmed and stuck together. There are 2 activities in 1, a board game that needs a dice and counters a bit like snakes and ladders. The instructions are on the board. The second game is a name matching game the cut out names of rooms and items in Speedy’s house needs to be placed on the board where the player thinks it matches. The names of the rooms and items can be made in your own language.
